Cubs game? More like ex-game.

So, where did I leave off?

Ah yes, the Great American Midwestern Roadtrip. We were in Cleveland, it was lovely.

Moving along now... we ventured into Chicago! And woah is it pretttttty! They have everything. The city life and the down-home feel. They even have beaches! Right in the city! That Lake Michigan is mad pretty too, the water is so blue. I'm telling you, if you haven't visited Chicago, you most def should.

So my Irish Hottie and I decide to attend a Cubs game! Previously, I'd been to Wrigley Field as a child, but never as an adult with the added bonus of drinking the innings away!

As we're walking in, Irish Hottie gets all tingly... isn't that cute? He's from Boston and grew up a die hard Red Sox fan, but how can you not get excited over the aura of Wrigley Field?? I thought he was going to start tearing up, but he held it together. He is a man after all :-)

Anywayyyy, so we're walking up to our seats and suddenly I see a friend from high school in the stands! I was like woahhhh no way, is that my friend Matt? And it totes was! So I run up the stairs to say hi and guess who is sitting next to him?? My ex-boyfriend! Uhhhh, yucks. So obvi I play it cool and intro them both to Irish Hottie (who I am so so proud to be with right then, because he is, after all SUPER HOT and I am, after all, introducing him to my ex... hehe). And as we're chatting we come to the funniest and most random/awesome realization ever! They. Were. Sitting. In. Our. Seats. Pause for reaction: HAHAHAHAAAAA, HOOOHOOOOO, HEEEEEEHAWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently their own seats were conveniently placed behind a support beam, so they decided to move up a couple of rows. Unknowingly to them that they would soon be occupied by me and my Hottie. Well, they were cast back to their unfortunate seating arrangements and I was sublimely happy. And thanks to my flask full of delicious Cabernet Sauvignon, I was drunk too.

Do you have any funny/embarrassing/truly ironic stories about any of  your exes? I'd love to hear them and any other Mischief you Sisters have found yourself in. Share!

See you next week ladies.

So many shoes... OMyG, which ones do we choose!?

A girl loves options, but sometimes the choices can be overwhelming!

Wedges, gladiators, flip flops, peep toe flats, kitten heels, pumps, platforms. Sheesh! With all of these potentially fabulous shoes to choose from, how do we find the ones that look best with which outfit? It can be very challenging Middle Sisters, but never fear! Your oh-so-fashionable Drama Queen is here to make these choices just a bit easier for you.

First of all, choose something comfy! Does fashion have to kill your toes? Well sometimes that is unfortunately unavoidable...But for the most part, we should be able to walk and dance and frolic in our adorable footwear.

Second, don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. Yes, everyone should have the standard black pump and nude flat to throw on at the last second, but your shoes are where you can go crazy with prints and colors!

Finally, stay true to your personal sense of style. Just because Sarah Jessica Parker can get away with wearing fuchsia heels with feathers, does not mean you should try to work them into your wardrobe :-)

So, here are a few of my favorite shoes available at Nordstroms this season. Along with the shoescome a few suggestions of how and where and with what to wear them.

This Kimball2 Flat by REPORT is sooooooooo cute. Now, I know the pom pom might be controversial, but look at the color of this turquoise! It is absolutely stunning, like I'm looking straight into the ocean. This can be a day or night flat. For day, pair with skinny black jeans (rolled slight above the ankle bone), a black and white striped tee or billowy white blouse. For night, scan your closet for anything deep purple or burnt orange. The colors will play off of each other creating a very romantic ensemble.

I am absolutely loving these chains. This Twist Bootie by BCBGeneration is incredible I know. Usually this Drama Queen stays away from chains, but these are very elegant looking. This is definitely a shoe that needs something more muted on top. Again, find a bold color in your closet to pair this with. Since this boottie is high above the ankle, wear this with a skirt or dress that hits mid-thigh or is at least a little billowy so as to create the illusion of elongated legs.

Ahhhhhhh I love this Syreta Pump by Pelle Moda with every inch of my beating heart. Look at this shoe! I think it might embody the essence of me... I would wear this solely as a day shoe. Pair with a white flowy beach dress or a fitted dress in earth tones. This is also suitable for office, as long as your clothing is on the conservative side.

The detailing on this Femme Sandal by Zigi Girl is incredible. They completely married the gladiator style sandal with more of a beach turned urban twist. Beautiful! Wear this sandal with whatever you want. Seriously. There are so many colors, making this sandal not only versatile, but vibrant!

Well, these are my ultra fab selections to round out these hot summer months. I'd love to hear what your go-to summer shoe is!? See you next week Sisters.

The Great American Midwestern Road Trip.

So fun when spent with an Irish Hottie.

Remember my latest boy crush? Well... I should say 'man crush' because he is no boy :-)

Anywayyyyyy so he called me a few weeks ago and said, "Pack your bags, I'm picking you up in an hour for a Great American Midwestern Road Trip." I was like, "Huh?"

But soon I warmed to the idea and o-my-g I'm so happy I did! We had just taken that trip to Maine, so I was surprised to hear from him so soon, but I gots to say... I like the persistence! And he's so darn cute! So he picks me up and we head east to Cleveland. Cleveland? If I could think of the most romantic city to spend a night in, it would def not be Cleveland. I mean, they don't even have Lebron James anymore (what you think I don't know sports? Helloooo boys like sports and I like boys... you can make the connection).

But we're driving through downtown Cleveland and it is beautiful, I mean really pretty! The skyline proudly stands tall against the backdrop of Lake Erie. It is a very dope scene. We're driving parallel along the Lake and decide to park next to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and take a peek around. The museum was closed, but after further wandering we stumbled upon this street fare at a pier right on Lake Erie! The sun was setting and reflecting this gorgeous dusk sky and let me tell you... it was so effing romantic. We held hands and walked along the pier, we smooched in front of these ancient pirate-ship looking vessels along the water and finally we strolled back to the car and took in the scene for a few more minutes.

Hm. The unexpected can sometimes turn out to be something you needed all along. Maybe that means we (as in humans) don't have to stress out about finding the perfect job or perfect boyfriend or perfect night out... sometimes, these things have a way of coming to you.

Woah that was some heavy stuff right? Yeah... after my third glass of Cabernet Sauvignon I start to get all philosophical with life. Ha. I love it. Next week: Chicago!

I'm seeing red... and I heart it!

Pun intended?

Yes! Hearts are all over the fashion scene right now. And Middle Sisters, I do not mean those bubbly I heart NY types of hearts... although I do absolutely love NY... But anyway, I digress. Hearts this summer season are edgy, they are hipster, they are so in. TopShop, the brainchild clothing line of super model extraordinaire Kate Moss, has introduced their unique heart prints in stores and let me tell you, they are ah-mazing and oh so wearable. Loves it!

What do you think of this print? If you say anything other than 'it completes me', please discontinue reading my blog posts forever. Forever!

Pair tucked in to a black bodycon skirt and gladiators for an overall chic, yet sexy look!

And for daywear, here is the same print in a dress that is absolutely divine and positively perfect for the office. The boatneck cut and belted waist accentuates in all the right places.

This slightly more rocker-chic tank is more bodycon, but totally gorgeous. I mean look at the back detailing, stunning! The bold zipper, the criss-cross back panels... so flattering. To offset the slimness of the top, pair with a skirt that has some volume or a wide-leg jean.

And finally, this day frock is so simple and definitely worthy of bbq's in the park or days at the beach!

So hearts it is! Be brave with your choices and I promise the compliments will be a-coming. Ciao darlings.
