Marco DiGiulio

Acclaimed Winemaker Marco DiGiulio

Marco DiGiulio graduated with a degree in Fermentation Science from the University of California at Davis in 1985. After two years at Buena Vista Winery, he worked as Cellar Master at Pine Ridge Winery for more than four years. Marco next served as the Production Manager for Atlas Peak Vineyards, followed by his 1994 appointment as Winemaker for Pezzi King Vineyards. Just before the 1995 harvest, Marco became the Winemaker at Pepi Winery in Oakville. While making Pepi Wines, he also took charge of the Lokoya brand. It was at Lokoya that Marco’s reputation for making world-class Cabernet Sauvignon was first established when his 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon received a remarkable 98 points in the Wine Spectator.

Most of Marco’s wines score consistently in the 90’s among top critics, and in November 2007, Wine Spectator named Marco DiGiulio “one of Napa’s leading wine consultants.” His wealth of experience and love of winemaking enables him to craft the finest wines from the California mountains and valleys that provide his inspiration.

Marco has guided the winemaking at the highly acclaimed, and Napa Valley focused, Girard Winery since 1999. In addition, he focuses on creating the Sonoma County based high quality Chardonnays, Cabernet Sauvignons and Zinfandels of the Windsor Sonoma Winery.

Anthony Austin

Winemaker Anthony Austin

A fourth-generation Sonoma County native, Anthony brings his vast knowledge, incredible artistry and experience to Windsor Sonoma Winery. By carefully selecting the vineyards and working closely with each grower, Austin obtains ripe, balanced fruit from prime Sonoma County vineyards. In 2009, Anthony celebrates his 34th vintage as a winemaker.

Born and raised in Healdsburg, California, Anthony studied enology at the University of California, Davis, and continued his studies under the legendary winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff. Serving as a consultant to Brooks Firestone on a project in the Santa Ynez Valley, Tchelistcheff suggested the talented young Austin as the winemaker for Firestone’s new winery. In 1974, Anthony became the first winemaker at Firestone Vineyards in Santa Barbara. During his ten years as winemaker, he helped to elevate Firestone Vineyards and the Santa Barbara region to new heights. Anthony directed winemaking there from inception to 1983.

Winemaker Anthony Austin punches must for Pinot Noir 2008 harvest

Anthony sought to focus his talents on Pinot Noir and to this end, he left Firestone (although he continued to serve as a consultant) to start his own winery: Austin Cellars LLC. His Austin Cellars wines won international acclaim and remain highly sought-after collectibles.

In 2001, Anthony was drawn back to Sonoma County and its unique terroir. Anthony utilizes his 10 years of experience in Sonoma County appellations to produce the award winning Pinot Noirs and Sauvignon Blancs of the Windsor Sonoma Winery.
