Lately, I've been walking out the door, stepping onto the sidewalk, and thinking, "Ooh, brisk!" It is usually followed by a disheartened look from one of my sisters. But instead of focusing on the last day of flip-flop friendly weather, I tell my girls to look forward to the best part of Fall: Boots! This season is all about the footwear. Pair them with a long skirt and a slouchy sweater and you're guaranteed to look gorgeous. I recently went on a shopping spree and picked up this season's essentials. Take a look, and suggest some other fall staples. I can always go for another shopping trip!

DV by Dolce Vita: Simone Short Leather Boots $139

This motorcycle-coyboy boot hybrid is best for casual around-town nonsense. Pick up prescriptions, drop off your dog at the groomer, and be confident that you look way hotter than those sneaker-clad women doing the same. Comfy and cool, these boots say "don't mess."

Steve Madden: Troopa Lace-up Boots $99

If it's a tougher, downtown style you're craving, try a pair of combat boots. These vintage-inspired boots look effortless, with a distressed low heel and lace-up detailing. Wear them with a belted shirt-dress or even a flowy maxi skirt and you'll be ready for anything.

DV by Dolce Vita: Zurich Lace-up Boots $120

A personal favorite, these delicate boots give every woman a victorian flair. Featuring a pristine eyelet and stitch detail, these boots are snug and low to the ground, so you can wear them with a great pair of jeans, out to dinner with a flirty skirt, or with anything really. you won't feel clunky in these, but you will feel chic.

Franco Sarto: Ricky Leather Oxfords $89

A big trend this fall is menswear for women! I love these because they're a classic men's look, but with a feminine upgrade. Create a refined style in these leather and fabric oxfords by adding a sleep tailored jacket, a crisp button-down, and even some suspenders! Girls really can have it all.

Sam Edelman: Petty Suede Ankle Boots $160

Understated but oh-so-essential, these flats are cropped at the ankle and give a more finished look to any casual outfit. They, too, hint at the classic western boot, but with a modern spin. And man, isn't suede comfortable?

Isola Idaline: Studded Leather Booties $180

If you're thinking to yourself, "whenever I go out with my girlfriends, everyone always notices the tall, blond one!" then these are likely the boots for you. With an almost-pointed toe, metal studs climbing up the heel, and a side zipper closure, these cutting-edge ankle boots say "look at me" so you don't have to. Talk about sexy!

Poetic Licence: Backlash Lace-up Pumps $98

Full of vintage flavor, these playful pumps sport a ribbon lace-up construction and retro plaid detail. Paired with a simple a-line skirt, these booties are a remarkably understated way to dress up your look for your next business meeting. They're filled with personality and fun, just like the woman who wears them.

Hunter: Tall Rubber Rainboots $125

A fabulous classic for increasingly-crispy, wet weather. The best for gardening, and perfectly paired with an umbrella, these Scottish rainboots make you feel down-to-earth and refined, all at the same time. Mmm, quite.

This “free sarhing” of information seems too good to be true. Like communism.

My personal rain boot theory (love the Hunters but want them in Graphite)...wear them...and it won't rain. Happens to me everytime.
